CERAMIC COATING

WHAT IT IS

Ceramic Coating is a long-lasting, durable form of protection for your paint. Providing years of protection against the harshest elements you can think of, with hydrophobic properties that reject water from the surface.

Additionally, it will provide your vehicle with stain resistance against bugs, saps, and droppings, scratch resistance during the washing process, increased depth and clarity to all surfaces, and be less prone to water spots.

WHAT WE DO

Here at The Buff Lab, we prep the vehicle with an exterior decontamination wash, then move into the paint correction. After that, the ceramic coating is applied and left in our controlled environment to cure.

FULL PACKAGE: $1,350 - $2,500
FOLLOW-UP BOOSTER: $140 - $350

FAQs

How long does it last?

With proper care and maintenance, our Ceramic Coatings can last 3+ years without needing to re-apply!

Do you ceramic coat wheels?

Yes! Included in our Ceramic Coat packages, we coat all painted surfaces, glass, headlights, chrome, and trim. Wheels can be coated for an additional charge.

Can you apply it at my house?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer mobile Ceramic Coating at this time. We run all of our polishing and coating services out of our Langley location, as they require a controlled space to apply and cure.

How long do you have to have the vehicle?

We typically require the vehicle for 48 hrs to allow for proper cure time, though some may be ready in as little as 24 hrs.

What kind of maintenance does it need?

Only two things: Washes + Boosters

To aid in the longevity of your Ceramic Coat, you’ll want to keep up with regular washes at least every two weeks. Although it may look and stay cleaner for longer, if dirt or dust sits on the vehicle for an extended period of time, you run a higher chance of scratching the coating.

However, over time your Ceramic Coat’s hydrophobic properties and shine will still diminish. This is completely normal, which is why it’s important to book regular Booster appointments. At these appointments, we’ll give your vehicle an exterior wash, check for any issues with the coating, and apply a special Ceramic Booster to rejuvenate the hydrophobic properties and shine. These should be done every 3-6 months, depending on how often the vehicle is driven and sits out in the elements.

Can I take my vehicle through an automatic car wash?

We highly recommend you try to stay away from automatic car washes and handwash the vehicle instead. If you’re unable to wash it yourself and must use an automatic car wash, make sure it’s the touchless kind and you don’t add any of the wax options to your wash, or find someone you can help you wash it (we may know a guy ..).

How do I wash my vehicle after it’s been ceramic coated?

You’ll want to use a high-quality microfibre wash mitt. The wash mitt should always be firm enough to wash the vehicle, but soft enough to reduce scratching.

As far as what products to use, you’ll want to look for a Ceramic automotive soap. Just be sure it doesn’t have any added wax and has a neutral pH balance. If you’re still unsure what to look for, we’re happy to make recommendations on our favourites.
